Today the ice started getting soft. The route is closed for now. There is still a small possibility that the route will be open on easter if the weather is getting colder.

Family skating trip

We tested the skating package with children (7 years and 6 months old). First day skating Oravi - Järvisydän (19 km), one night in a log villa and the following day back to Oravi. The trip went fine when the ice was in perfect condition, the weather was beautiful and the back pack was filled with chocolate.

Lunch in Piikatyttö everyday. Saunas in Oravi are open sat and sun from noon to 6pm (free of charge for skaters).

Ships are still passing trough Haukivesi so it is impossible to cross over to Porosalmi. In Porosalmi there is total of 6km routes open.

The route was prepared this morning (Oravi - Linnansaari - laivaväylä) and the ice is in very good condition. Today it is raining but it is still possible to skate the whole day. The weatherforecast for Sat and Sun is very good. On sunday afternoon the ice might get soft so it is better to go out on the ice early in the morning.
